Before we start, we must be very clear with the term ‘Departure’. Google defines it as “the action of leaving, especially to start a journey”. Mostly used with various means of communication and rarely with respect to people. So why then, I’m using this and not any other, common, human-related word?

Humans are now a whole new field. They are internally something else and philosophically entirely complex species. Like for example, they are vertebrates ( having spine ) internally, but if you speak in philosophical terms, they don’t seem to have any spine. Another example maybe that they have a well-built fully functional heart in internal terms, but again, in philosophical terms, case is completely different.

Every now and then we hear about studies being carried on and about different aquatic and terrestrial live forms, but humans. Why? Why the privilege? Have we completely figured out ourselves? No, well, it’s also a mystery.

Coming back to our topic, let’s discuss the topic with a more scientific point of view. When we move anything, be it be the tiniest piece of a chalk or a grain, or the mega mega-sized planet, we can easily say it departed from it’s position. Then it varies whether it returns or not. There are many factors which determine it’s course now- direction of motion, force acting on it, pressure, contact with other objects, and many others. Still, one thing remains same- the objective. Familiar, isn’t it?

Things being things, sometimes leave a trail behind, sometimes don’t. Humans always do. A very valuable trail indeed. One that affects others more than himself/herself. One that keeps bugging who he/she left most impression on. One that makes it difficult for his/her dearest to move on. Yes, the deadly, the cruel, memories.

We humans are more closely similar to the non-living things than we might think of. Talking only thing of departure, even so a thing when departs may or may not leave a trail, but it certainly affects it’s surroundings- the composition, the way of functioning, the stability, and a lot more. Is it not the case with us humans?

When a thing departs and comes in contact with any other thing, it clashes and creates a disturbance, whether minute or huge. We humans are the same. Now who said a person’s departure could only be poetic, science seems to have a more human personification.
